Daily Post Weekly Writing Challenge- 1,000 Words

Oh, Mama. I’m so bored. Where are all the kids? Where are you? I want to ride the merry-go-round. Please? Just once? Can’t the baby feed itself? Mama? It’s hot and I’m getting tired.

Why did you bring me here if I can’t ride Tigger? I always ride Tigger. If Daddy were here he’d let me ride Tigger. He’d lift me up onto Tigger’s back and spin me until I giggled and got dizzy. You’re no fun, Mama.  Ever since that baby came you don’t like me anymore.

I wonder where all the kids are? Maybe I can try to spin myself. I’m supposed to be the big kid now that the stupid baby is here. I’m supposed to stay clean and be nice and wait my turn but that’s not fun.

Mama?

Maybe if I cry she’ll come over and spin me! The baby cries all the time and she always goes to the baby when it cries. I hate being a big sister. This day is boring. I’m bored.

If I were Tigger I’d bounce away and go find Pooh and Roo and we’d play and eat honey and I’d bounce some more and I’d bounce away from that baby and be in a big field with flowers and grass and all the kids would be there and we’d all get dirty and make a lot of noise. No babies allowed.

I wish I could be Tigger and bounce away. I guess I’ll just wait here for Mama.

This week’s Daily Post Weekly Writing Challenge is to write a post about the image (“a picture is worth a thousand words”). Thanks for reading!

  1. perfection!! great job telling the story from the child’s pov. this here, especially, nailed it for me: “If I were Tigger I’d bounce away and go find Pooh and Roo and we’d play and eat honey and I’d bounce some more and I’d bounce away from that baby and be in a big field with flowers and grass and all the kids would be there and we’d all get dirty and make a lot of noise. 2. I love her saying, “Maybe I can try to spin myself”. That’s such a deep statement. Her happiness is tied in getting that thing spinning, but then we realize it’s all about Mama. Nice job! 🙂
